John Steen is a voice coach, producer and artist living in Dallas, Texas. John has studied extensively with Tom to hone his own voice, and is passionate about helping other artists achieve the same level of improvement in their voice.
John has been performing as a vocalist since he was 13 years old, and has played and written for several bands throughout high school and college. At Baylor University, he was in a band called Zoo Studio that gained local popularity and played at several of the school’s largest events, including the lineup of festival Diadeloso, which has featured headliners like Colby Caillat and Nico & Vinz.
After college John ventured off into a solo career, which he still pursues as a songwriter and performer. He has received many positive reviews from music blogs including Musicgeeks, When the Gramophone Rings and PressPlay, who wrote that “Dallas boy Steen could well be the saviour of male-driven pop”.
In addition to voice coaching and pursuing his artist career, John produces tracks for local artists, heads the podcast and website Sound and Substance for indie artists and producers, and produces songs for licensing companies for song placement in film and commercials.
